Windows Into My Soul

C.J. Knudsen

Tell me what your heart wants

I can’t make you feel if you don’t know by now

Open windows on a breezy day

but closed when rain is in the air

The summer wind echoes in my ear

All I want is to feel your breath against my lips

Hop into the truck and trust me

It will be the best for you and me

Blue skies roll pass the mirrors

and I’m forced to face my fears

All I want is the feel of your hand against mine

and the picture of our family in your eyes

I know I have given up

but I will always try

Dust to dust

but not in a rush

Let the summer sun shine on this lifelong crush

and we will leave it all behind
