I too sing America,
I am no different,
My past does not define me,
My pain does not affect you,
So stop hushing me away,
It happened and you didn’t stop it,
Someday,
I will go to court,
You will go to jail,
Justice will start with me,
Then move to other boys, and girls,
I’m taking the stand you never did,
For all the people like me,
Living in fear,
we will stand together,
Against all the Pedophiles of the world,
Never again will another child be touched,
by their hands,
Then and only then,
Will you apologise to me,
For the actions you never took,
To protect me,
You will no longer tell me to “get over it”
I, too, am America.
