Coping.

Toni

Are you ever just aggressive

for the sick fascination of it?

like a distant childhood memory

I just want to know why,

what does it feel like to cause hurt?

Just because I can

or because I want to.

It’s learning the art of unapologetically

digging your fingers into my flesh

and letting red run,

of making me believe it never happened,

or atleast not how I remember,

you were kinder

and I’m just remembering wrong.

And I know I’m too soft

to be so hard on others.

So it’ll always

and only ever be,

a sick fascination.

HI TONI - Angela here ! Welcome to MPS it is a very empathetic site so I hope you get some more comments. Your first Poem is well writen in Free Verse but with a painful subject. Poetry is alwys very cathartic so I trust sharing this experience with us relieved your PAIN. Thinking of you.

    Blessings & Peace & Joy
    Yours ANGELA.

Thankyou so much for commenting!! I didn’t really expect anyone to read my poem so thankyou!! I’m not very experienced in writing poetry but it is something that really helps me and I wanted to at least put it somewhere instead of having it sit in my notebook, your comment has really encouraged me, thankyou again❤️

Ahh yes - we wouldn't want to harm many people - but there's a few we may secretly wish some misfortune to. Then we laugh wickedly up our sleeve, as it were. But it does no use - the misfortune may backfire and fall on us somehow.
