Breakable me

AJ

I remember

The moment I let myself give into it

The way you pulled me in

Your gentle caresses

The security in your eyes

And now you barely see me

I’m a silly girl, I know

Because to you we weren’t worth the time

I wasn’t worth the wait

But I remember that gentleness

The way I gave into you

And went limp in your arms

But like sand I slipped through your fingers

Because you found prettier shells

Whole shells

Washing back into the tide now

I know I’ll stop myself next time

From making room in my breakable heart

And I’ll do it because of you
