Without you

thewayiwrite

And the nights grew colder

And the moon stayed longer

And sun stopped rising

And the rivers dried

But the oceans grew and the saltwater spat at the children on the shore

And the lions stopped roaring

And the elephants lowered their trunks

And the world stopped turning and the stars didn’t shine

And your heart didn’t beat in time

And the aching of mine couldn’t rhyme

With the slow hum of the hummingbird

outside the window
