You Missed.

Lizzie Lara

You missed

The gun was left on the ground, and the target fell apart. It was so used to being hit, it disintegrated. Just like my time for you.

Our love was like a gun range, only you called the shots.

You clocked the trigger so good, without hesitation, that you thought it would never break. You aimed right at the target knowing you were going to score.

So much for confidence;you missed.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this at a time when I thought I was not worth it. A dark place in my mind where only I knew the difference between love and lust. I hope it shines a light in everyone that reads this individually as it could be interpreted in so many ways. Comment on it, give me suggestions on what I should write next. :) THANK YOU! -L.C
