Whatever happened to 2007?
Rockin' and jammin' in a childhood heaven.
Innocence in a sense repeating itself.
Generation in the making but built on self help.
Wide eyes and low rise jeans beaming
Gen z babies fresh faced but screaming
About the news, a frustrated groan.
Most judged place-looking down at your phone.
Look deeper, what's on the screen became uniquer, the dream?
Sprinting away with time...
When being different became almost a crime
We needed more help than Harry Potter
To stop our summer from getting hotter.
Always looking back is a pain in the neck when
No good ever came after we turned eleven
Watching old skool Ant and Dec
Whatever happened to 2007?

- Comment from author about the poem: 2020 came too quick, eleven forty seven struck and I got scared and channelled that into rhymes about the past (I often hold on to it).
