Restless Feet

sarahlynne

Morning news, the ongoing chatter,

Lies, war, threats, ego inflated.

A strutting popinjay* off key,

The naive base, fascinated.

What do I hear, that they don’t hear

Big talk, not lacking vanity?

The truth turned into murky fog?

Malignant power: insanity!

Do we like the song theyre playing,

Within the notes bold lies entwined.

Yes we all hear the skipping reels,

of arrogance; blind leading blind.

Reflect now on where were headed,

Step light behind behind what seems unfit,

A wise old proverb comes to mind,

Restless feet may walk into a snake pit.

 * popinjay.....a vain or conceited person, especially one who behaves extravagantly.

Fascinating read about contemporary politics. A certain president comes to mind. The blind man leading those who will not see. Thank goodness he isn't a dictator. But prepare for repercussions to his actions.

    A good fun read.
