There are so many roads
that lead no where but
reach out to the wider world
they lead to have fun and to party
along side the pools with waves
who can create his own road
if he can stage his or her destiny
the river has life and love
it offers life and offers pride

Often we start out following a well trodden road only to become disallusioned and seek something else. The beginnings of finding ones own road which as you describe, is far more rewarding.
