Battle.

Fay Slimm.

Battle.

Settling mysterious glow on late
sky's afternoon show

Phoebus hazily parts blown veils

on early twilight's face
by pushing her fading round bulk

between striated clouds.

Rays beat moon's rising attempts
to end day and outpace

dying light's race by interference

when sun shines again

from behind each vestige of grey.

Desiring to taste more this defiant

line-bleed of victorious

display as beach quickly empties
I drink shades of linked

battle between daylight and dark

as stars wink adieu
to bid blue apt goodbye in finalé

then old Sol sinks.

  • dusk arising

And now you bring us the goddess of the sun as she slips into her night attire.
There i was considering you to be her handmaiden at each break of dawn.
    Delightful.

BRIAN HERE ~ Good Evening FAY ~ Thanks for sharing we have saved as a FAVE ! As a ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST I am aware that all life on EARTH depends on the SUN to maintain the avaerage temperature @ 16C ! Note that the radiation from the Sun we recieve is constant and deetermined by our distance form the SUN (93 million miles !) So if we increase CO2 more of the Suns Thermal Energy is trapped on earth causing GLOBAL WARMING !
I love all poems that showcase Brother Sun ! He likes centre stage and Clouds are a problem but they make his entrance (SUNRISE) and exit (SUNSET) very spectactular ! We have enjoyed SUNSETS in every Continent ! The SUN has provided Planet Earth with free energy for Millions of Years and will continue to do so ~ AMEN !

    Blessings & Peace & Joy
