Grow in Christ

ForeverJesus7

Who is Christ Jesus,

other than the one,

we know to be true?

Many do not know Christ Jesus.

Nevertheless,

despite the ridicule,

He is a man,

that we can find no fault in.

Why not chase after Him?

Give me a legitimate reason.

    A fine write Forever.
I am distracted though, by 'altar calls' in some churches. Should I go forward? will others see me if I don't go forward? do I really mean it, or am I just following the crowd going forward? it gets all embarrassing.
Of course in some places 'altar calls' never happen. It's not in their 'style of services to do it.

You don't have to go to an alter call to accept Christ. You do not have to impress anyone, not even Christ. Still, it is important that you do accept Him. It is the most important decision in a person's life, but you can do it in the privacy of your own home if you want to. You just have to mean it from the heart.
      Persistence is key

I understand this, and believe I have done it. I just find it distracting, if asked to 'come forward' for various things, to show one is 'progressing'. Not that anyone is super-spiritual for going forward! A church became a bit of 'The Y Show' (initial of the main Minister), or so I think.

The big question is, 'is it really help leading people to Christ'. If it is, then there is nothing wrong with it.

          • orchidee

Well, it could be - but it seems 'cliquey' as if the 'in-crowd', those 'in the know' go forward. Not that it's staged as a set-up with certain people 'planted' who go forward anyway. it put me off, as in unsaid rule: 'You have to be quite noisy if you come here; yell Alleluia, music must be loud, etc'!

So what is the problem? That should not be preventing you from Christ. If it bothers you that much, then maybe the problem is you and you should leave that church.

              • orchidee

Well, I've not been to that church for 3 years now.

                • ForeverJesus7

Well that is good. Still, if you have not been there in three years, then you should forget about the situation.

Well that is good. Still, if you have not been there, to that specific church, in three years, then you should forget about the situation.

Yes! We all should chase after Christ. I wish more people would give Him a chance to change their hearts. They are so hurt, though, so I can understand their hesitancy. But God could heal their hearts, if only they would be open to Him.
