Maxine Smith

Waterfalls

Drowning in the air that I breathe,

Pulled below the waves of the sea

Brave the brutal, blood thirsty tide,

Battered and bruised, always I survive

Crashing waves, attempting my fate,

I’ll endure the unmerciful

Remaining strong, wait out the storm

Caved underneath a waterfall

Tide now smooth, calm and forgiving,

Beautiful colours rippling

A bright new journey has begun,

As I have the wings to the sun

Quite charming. Hopeful for the New Year but Brexit will wash away all your joys, believe you me.
