Happy Days

SweetlySinisterScribbler

Sitting at the lake with her friends,
the girl writes in her journal.
Her tales of woe and sorrow,
- things that made her a loner.

How she sees herself
versus
what she wants to see

Looking out over the water
- everything becomes clear

The air seems cleaner,
The flowers - fresher,
The sky - brighter.

The girl thinks of her future,
filled with unconditional love and want.
She thinks of all the laughs and smiles,
stories shared and made.

She can't help but smile,
when thinking of her possible family.
A soon to be husband -
and three adopted children.

Ripping the page out of her journal,
she crumbles it up
- tossing it in the water.

Promising herself, that no matter what comes
- she will always remember these happy days.
