I wake up in the morning and think to myself
another day of torture to lay upon my shelf
I try to let my worries fade and disappear with my gloom
knowing it will take courage for me to walk out of the room
When i finally do lifted partially was the weight
until i look into the mirror and force myself not to hate
You see for me each day is worse than the day i have lived before
and the day thats due to come leaves me broken on the floor
broken is my body shattered is my pride
a feeling i call emptiness which i feel constantly inside...

Your words described my high school years as well. Your poem made me shed a tear for your pain, mine, and all others. Thank you for sharing, even though it describes a sad time it is comforting to know I was not alone.
Thankyou Edith

ANGELA HERE - Hi Carly Lou (Nice name !) Im 31 and I have gone through som bad phases trying to find the right MAN ! However after a few bad experiences I found BRIAN (36) and we are getting married in April ! It is FIRST for both of US ! Love the structure of your First Poem - Full of Rhyme (couplets) & Rhythm ! The subject is rather melancholy - but you tell us it is retrospective - when you were half your age - I trust things are better today ? Thanks for caring & sharing - more please !
Blessings & Peace & Joy for the future !
