Moist

DiamondPuma

It’s that mouth noise

Do you know?

That chewing

That smacking

That click click

clack clacking!

That soft banana mushing around

Those lips flip

flick

flap flapping!

Smacking!

Why must it torcher so?

That softened bolus rolling around

Squish

The saliva squirming and squeezing

I’m gasping for air; a fish in the mud

Squelch

It’s just a noise,

It’ll go.

I know!

But please, for the love of God,

learn some manners and just chew with your fucking mouth closed!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Written out of a consuming discomfort I was inspired by someone in my library who was just simply chewing with their mouth wide open. The noise was inescapable thus the claustrophobic reference to a "...fish in the mud." The word choice for "torcher" is correct and a play on words. This was purposefully chosen to tie into the fish theme. I encourage you to look up the definition of "torcher."
