You Stopped By

SheWasTheSun

I had a dream

That you stopped by

I touched your face

And you touched mine

We sat and talked

Side by side

We laughed and teased

And stayed up all night

And when the sun peeked out

We both cried

We held each other

Just one last time

You kissed my hair

We said goodbye

And I thanked the stars

That you stopped by

May she come again into those dreams.

    A delight to read.

When we're missing someone, a dream can ease the pain. Never completely, but momentarily we are are peace..
A pure depiction of such a dream, almost life-like, that ends in a more peaceful parting. I loved the flow and rhyming. A terrific poem. - Phil A.
