Misinterpretations

Fractured Dreams

Misinterpretations manifest fanciful fears.

Conjuring unsightly ideas of another’s disposition.

The ill kept mind over time gains an unrealistic confidence in its relentless desire to seek out something that isn’t there.

Imagination now damming those we are meant to love,

ridiculing their very soul,

forcing an oppressive silence to form.

Like a thick fog it creeps in,

smothering our perception,

clouding our judgment.

Conceited and fuelled by nothing more than our own misconception of another

It is only once the dust settles,

and that, what was once a flourishing landscape,

now lies bare.

We, who have been so fixated on what our mind created.

Misconstrue, that they simply must not care
