Fragile

MojoFreewrite

“The sun is shining yet the shadows behind her envelops her

The days of warmth slowly becoming frigid wind

She is not whole, pieces of her still missing

Her past lovers taking every piece of her from each goodbyes

She is not whole as her battered heart lied on the table barely beating

Oh darkened days

Swallow her whole and take her to endless abyss

So that she may understand confinement

And isolation from the world

Shield her her fragile heart

Oh darkness take her under

Lie with her at night so that she may feel enough

All the while, she showed nothing but warmth and smile towards the world”

  • Comment from author about the poem: You are not alone, it’s okay to feel comfort in the dark when you feel the need to isolate yourself from the world because it all hurts too much, take care of your fragile heart and know that you aren’t alone.
