You miss things when they are not there
You miss things when life starts to seem unfair
I bet you miss the buttons I would press and yet all the pressure I could take off your chest
I bet you miss the softness to my touch when your day was going rough
Or is it despite the fact I knew you had everything to hide, but brushed past the unspoken lies
I bet you miss having the “one” girl among many that to you was worth more than just a penny
‘Cause you miss things when they are not there
You miss things when life seems unfair
But while I was there you were what was unfair to the life that I was living
I missed the girl that was once very giving
I missed when my heart was warm and not so heavy
I missed when other men saw the self respect I now lack, but before was very proud to carry
I miss not using you as an excuse to my nonstop self-mental abuse
Now you miss me because I am not there
Which at the cost of my self love, the price to pay seems very fair
I miss being able to feel like I can love someone
But that someone was never you
I miss the idea of love that was never there
I only miss the things that you can never repair
