He Has Me

SheWasTheSun

He is the air

In my lungs

He is the blood

In my veins

He is the tear

On my cheek

He is the dreams

In my sleep

He is the lines

On my fingertips

He is the rhythm

In my steps

And he is the voice

In my prayers

So yes,

I can live without him

But I cannot breathe

I cannot bleed

I cannot cry

I cannot sleep

I cannot feel

I cannot dance

And I cannot wish

Without the pieces of him

Staining the edges of my world

Wrapping around my mind

Like overgrown vines

And the more I fight it

The tighter they grip

He is in me

He has me

And as time goes on

I find myself believing

That he always did

And always will

Long before us

And long after we leave

He has me

This is beautiful poetry. A personal subject, expressed eloquently. the emotion runs through the entire poem. I like how you split the two stanzas and contrasted the with/without circumstances.
I wish to suggest a few things that might improve this. Small things. I will send them private message, if you friend me. - Phil A.
