Permanence of Memorial

Philip Daniel Cook

What truth?

Dead is dead.

But what we do lives forever.

And my shadow knows better.

Time is the greatest test.

Forever is forever.

For all mortal coil resist.

And the soul might be trapped.

But at last, so is the person.

In all they find.

Swims, don't you agree?

In permanence of memorial.

That the world is a pearl

we don't consider.
