Don't Tell Me To Get Over It!

Confia.En.Tu.Corazon 87

Don't tell me to let go,

Don't think I haven't tried.

Don't tell me to give It some more time,

Don't tell me you know it’s hard.

Or try to think good things.

Don't tell me to try to do something new.

Or take on a hobby to distract you from the news.

I've tried all of it, and I still can't let go.

See you were my soulmate, and now you're gone.

I tried to read, hoping it would distract me.

But every book reminds me of you.

I've tried to take a walk to ease my mind.

But the wind kept whispering your name in the back of my mind.

I tried to make new friends but I couldn't

No one was you.

I tried to pack up the clean out of the closet, but it was hard.

Every one of them had sent of you.

I tried to give away somethings that were yours, but I kept instead.

I was finding a reason why I could keep them instead.

I tried to put pillows were you use to lay.

To distract me while you were away.

But none of them felt the same., They all had your scent. They didn't fill the emptiness on your side of the bed.

I try not to think of you as much as I did. It’s hard when we had so

Much that was not said.

I try to talk to you too, but I didn't get an answer.

All I hear is an empty sound, where we use to laugh.

Today I sat down and wrote you this poem.

See, it's not easy to say goodbye, someone, you love so much.

I sat and had a good cry or two. Thinking of all are memories we shared.

See, it's hard to let go and just move on.

I won't just get over it, because you were mine.

I won't try to hide it or act like I'm okay.

You see, we made a promise you and I, we said our I do's till the end of time.

I didn't expect you to leave so soon,

Or be ready for the sad news.

I still count the days the pass

And the years as well. Even though we aren't together in life.

I carry you with me in my soul, so if you must now.

I never got over it, and I don't think I will.
