Making a stand

jjchris79

Today...
Tomorrow...
Any time... this greedy world,
determines to still owe me.
Tally it up, im cashin out,
It's time that I'm set free.
In forty years ive lost what i've built, forty times at least.
It yelds no reason, nor any ryme, this Earth is but a Beast.
Feeding off each life i build,
no matter how hard i work.
Again im left to be refilled,
but I no longer see the worth.
To completely be defeated, to just accept i've lost.
Discovering myself un-needed, i'm just not worth the cost.
I used to mask the truth of this, by forming my own perceptions.
But without real meaning to feel, I hastily see the deceptions.
Some may observe this as giving up, but to me im certainly making a stand.
Instead of continuing to serve the beast, this world will no-longer be fed from my hand.
