Stop, Forward, Pause, Rewind.

Stop, Forward, Pause, Rewind.

Come on, I know it's here!
Stop, pause, rewind.
Maybe a little further and ill find it.
Stop, Pause, forward.
I know it could be that far.
Stop, rewind, pause.
It can't be this hard to find.
Stop, forward, pause, Rewind.
Wait! is this it.
A small whisper came through.
Grandma! it's me your granddaughter.
Pause!
Wait! I know I know this memory, I know her name.
I need to start over again.
stop, forward, rewind, pause.

I can see and feel where you are coming from with this. How much more difficult would it be were you writing from the husband's point of view.
I know from recent bout of chemotherapy how it feels to have your memory blanked out and it's very similar to your stop, rewind, start over scenario.
I think your piece is very insightful and quite corageous.

      Dusk,

I’m sorry you had to go through that. It is hard. Very heart breaking at times.
