Another Breath

gerardoprie

People fear the unseen
Never knew to be scared
From what we can’t see
No place to hide from this disease
While many people pray
I look for another place to dream
While my house is under quarantine

The streets are lonely
No faces to be seem
Just as the highways are getting fill
To look for a place to call home
Before the world catches on fire
By the way we mow our lawn
And treat every flower like a stone

The rain makes you weep
By the way it hurts your face
No cover from the rain
While the disease takes another breath
In another country
People dream to feel free
And ride horses to the ocean
While listening to music and dancing in the ocean
People sit in hospitals waiting for another treat
To make them feel free and bless

It’ll make you sick
If you come near me
Keep your distance
Just as two strangers waiting for the bus under a tree
If you can’t understand his rules
Don’t mind wasting your life
Claiming you never heard my voice
Telling you run
While not looking back
Just as the choir sings hallelujah
To that forgotten in the fight

Trust science
To make you run
In the wild just like a child
While many others fight a war
That seems to be lost
In foreign town
Families bring roses to their tombs
And you lay on a bed waiting for another plate of food
While others starve in the cold
You’re free with no rain.

Don’t think twice
To call the number
To gain another minute
To feel alive in a world
With no limits
Try make your way to the doctor
To fill you up with notes and potions
To ease the pain
And cure the unknown before your eyes
While the disease hides beneath your breath
Another one comes in to take it’s place.
