I Wish You Still Wrote

Evergreen

Your talent is like none I’ve ever known

The way your words flow

And your language shows exactly the type of person you are

Your words feel like home

That’s just how the story goes

I felt close to you even though distance wise we were far apart

I’m sorry for never writing back

I thought that maybe my sanity was under attack

If only you knew who I really was, you’d understand

Don’t worry, now I’m back on track

My schedule is no longer packed

So I sat down to read the palm of your hand

But it was blank

No more castles

No more smiles

No more paper planes

No more working in my name

What happened?

Where did you go?

No more words with a steady flow

No more comments or side notes

I wish you still wrote
