The man in the puzzle

railasunshine

You actively decide every morning

your head on your pillow your

mind awakening

that you don’t want me.

Every single day

And not a day goes

by that I don’t feel it.

That I don’t know it.

You brought me into this world and promised to take care of me.

It’s your job.

You’re supposed to protect me.

You’re supposed to love me unconditionally.

You’re supposed to show me what to look for in my other half.

I’m crippled by you.

My perception skewed.

I don’t know what I’m looking for in a significant other because you never  showed me what love looks like.

I dig for truth

Pick up pieces and make

A shitty puzzle

It’s wrong again

It’s not a right fit

But it’s what I have

A picture of love

And over and over and over

I rearrange the pieces through blurred eyes

Which way do they go?
