The Peroke

Edthepoet

I'm going nowhere
Nowhere so fast
I'll go where these calm seas
Will Carry my raft
I can see palm trees
And white soft sand
I can hear the peroke
Imitate my laugh..

I'm heading somewhere
Somewhere at last
I left them behind me
The ghosts of my past
I'm sipping whiskey
While she starts to dance
Her hips are black magic
And that spell is cast

It's life we are given
For granted we take
The little miracles
In the day to day
Step to the left now
Put them away
The hurts you've been holding
Move out of your way.
