Things Cats Taught Me
Felines are according to me like dark praline. No, it is not about the rhyme. They are sweet and dark at the same time. Dogs vs Cats debate has been raging on for a long time. Both these animals are perfect in the way they are. These beings have taught me a great deal.Cats taught me it is ok to ask for love, yet want your space. It is good to wander around and roll on the grass! It is right to be playful and brood at walls in the middle of the day ;when your mind wanders, in search of greener pastures!
It is ok to stay up at night! It is completely fine to snuggle up, when respite is all you want! They taught me to chase your own tail, chase the impossible for who knows one day you might succeed!
Most importantly they taught me it is necessary not to give a damn when the bickering gets strong and allies dwindle! Cats are gifts, fur balls of affection! There is an air of mystery around them, a glint of mischief surrounding them. Cats are full of imagination. They are special just like every other animal.

- Comment from author about the poem: This one is very special to my heart. I composed it after meeting my friend's kitten. It always saddened me when people always said dogs are better than cats. Both animals deserve love , all animals do!

Oh yes, certainly! A fine write Sanjana. 🙂
Thank you! Glad to meet you!
A really delightful read from you today. I have also learned about both life in general and learned about myself from these wonderful animals. We are blessed if they choose to let us become close to them.
Indeed! I agree with you! We are blessed to have them!
Sanjana, with poetry of your quality I'm sure you would be happy to receive more comments from other poets. You will find you receive more if you give more. By reading other poets work on here and commenting you will find you soon build a rapport with certain poets and feedback will flow. But it is a two way street, you must give to get by and large.
Yes! I am on it. I was browsing poetry. Any poets you can recommend?
Thank you.
BRIAN HERE ~ Hi SANJANA ~ love your second Poem ! My Folks always had CATS - Lord Harold (Ginger) - Polly - Boots - Tigga etc ! Angela got married two weeks ago and we are in our first Home. Angela likes DOGS but with us both out @ Work (Mon to Fri 8am - 6pm) it would not be practical ! We have bought a 3 year old Male Abbysinian Blue (SMOKEY) and He will join us in May when we have sttled in. Our Mantra is *Home is where the CAT is !*.
I agree about what CATS teach us ~ TO LOVE ! Also to be independent and have a large territory ! Also to seek greener pastures & be inquisitive ! We love to burn the midnight oil and chase our own tails ! Like Cats we strive to be imaginative & independent ~ AMEN Thanks for sharing - great Animls - great Poem ! Please check our site - Thanks B & A.
Blessings & Peace & Joy
