The Days We Dared To Dream

Edthepoet

I couldn't talk to your state of mind
I couldn't get your point of view
I couldn't gage where you drew the line
I couldn't tell if it was you
Saying those words
Speaking those lines
The ones that hurt like a thousand knives

But I did love you
Yes I did love you
Ooh love you for the seventh time

N now I'm sleeping to feel alive
So don't wake me before sun rise
Coz in this nightly reverie
I find you somewhere between
The memories we once shared
And the day's we dared to dream.

I couldn't walk with you by my side
I couldn't reach where we had been
I couldn't know who you were this time
I couldn't tell what you really mean
Dishing the dirt
Breathing those lies
The ones that Burn like a lightning strike

But I did love you
Yes I did love you
Ooh love you for the seventh time

N now I'm sleeping to feel alive
So don't wake me before sun rise
Coz in this nightly reverie
I find you somewhere between
The memories we once shared
And the day's we dared to dream.

Not originally what I intended, but hey who am I to decide what I write 🤷‍♂️🙃. Thanks for commenting x

You're right, I don't think we do decide! It just comes to us...

You say it well. Sometimes all we are left with are memories and dreams. But remember, there are new memories and dreams waiting around the corner.

          Cheers Fred, all the best!
