Once upon a dreary day
I spied a faerie in the way.
I tipped my hat and carried on
My way to town to buy and pawn.
I had no time to stop that day
For the faerie in the way
And though I do regret it still
It coul't be helped, 'er though I will.
But sometimes when I come to town
I slow my feet upon the ground
Where she smiling, stood that day
As I passed her in the way.
