Love Poems to a Mended Heart

My_Brain

Sign a heart on the dotted line

trying to find the world in your spotted eyes

trying to tie a bow with your haunting lies,

is it supposed to feel like peace when you're not around

and hurricanes when you come back to town?

This is my best attempt at a love poem now

this is my best attempt at a love with someone new

because you stole my optimism as you handed over my things in that crowded room,

I've been in Monday ever since.

Sometimes when I try to write about love now

it only feels like a cautionary tale

feels like I've gotten nowhere,

had to tell my boyfriend

sorry I don't write about you.
