If I Had To Spend the Rest of My Life Untangling You

My_Brain

I'd thank the day I first met you

If you got so entwined with me

wrapped in every curve of my body

stuck to me like octopus teeth

you'd stop me from moving

my breath from rushing through my lungs

If you stained every pair of white socks I owned brown

if you made the ground shake at your arrival

made the earth quake at every departure

if you made me crazy

if you made me saner than ever

if you stole my heart

if you threw it away

If you pulled every single word out of my mouth

even the ones I didn't want to say

and you made a fool out of me

in every possible way

If you were all I could have

until the end of my days

I'm sure I'd love you

in every possible way

I'd thank the day I met you

I'd hope you'd stay

and leave a stain

tarnish every one that's left

because nothing would be the same

if the day I'd met you never came.
