she loved poetry
beautiful, powerful poetry
that pulled at her heart strings
and made her feel things
with such intensity
that the ocean welled in her eyes
and storms placed air pressure in her chest
and a fire flickered bright in her belly.
poetry was so perfect
it triggered the emotions
that in any other circumstance
did not seem to exist.
whirlwind emotions
with such intensity
that anyone weaker
may have felt uncomfortable.
but she enjoyed this feeling,
flourished in it.
Then you came into her life.
she loved poetry
perhaps that is why your elegant words enticed her
why the flow of your perfect rythym drew her in.
you fanned the flames inside her belly
into a wildfire fury
in a way that even the great poets
of the past couldn't do.
you used your charm to manipulate
the air pressure in her chest
into the perfect storm of passion.
This scared her, confused her, overwhelmed her.
but poetic promises dripping from your tongue
and dancing in the shadows of your eyes
drew her closer to you until she was consumed
with an intensity and comfort
that could not be found on paper,
only in you.
you were poetry,
and she loved poetry.

Hi Melissa,
A beautiful poetic write.
So lovely the beauty of poetry. There's nothing like a good poem to captivate our soul.
Keep writing and safe during these challenging times.
