The American Dream

Liam Lawless

When your country kills your community;
Anger produces a heavy spark.
The torment and torture of systematic cruelty
Fans the spark til it flickers.

George had no breathe, the air was being used
To fan the flicker that produced produce a flame.
And before long a police station is burning and roaring.

When your 'protectors' are in your children's nightmares;
And you president is a choice between a rapist and a rapist;
You are pushed and pressured into acts unbefitting of you.

So throw back the tear gas and pelt them with rocks
For they flooded the flames of their own destruction.
