The Dark Dome

Quemis

From barren sleep of darkened dome
This empty facade of a home
I set to siege the gates of night
Setting endlessness alight

Around this hollow wasted roam
Encapsulates a hardened chrome
From days long past the wage of war
Charred lands burn escapes to lore

The world is darkened since the tare
No light extinguishing despair
No footfall sounds no eye implore
Stretching ruins unexplored

Ever waiting on spire high
Where I can touch the rusted sky
A god beneath a darkened dome
Guards this house of light alone

This makes me look forward to reading more of your poems. I appreciate the density of your lines, the juxtaposed symbols, the relentless crashing of new elements creating a feeling more than an idea. But mostly I enjoy the sound. What you write works best for me read aloud. What you are saying is elusive, but it pleases and intrigues just to hear.

That is such a kind thing of you to say!!

      Really.
I have a large backlog if you are into metaphysical rambling that sounds vaguely haunted.

Keep them coming OK? I'm 65 and still working at a very intense job, and have a house full of read and unread literature, but I enjoy browsing MPS to see what you young folks are up to! I did download your e-book... I'll put it in my drop box to enjoy from time to time.

          I will keep writing. : )
