A Tribute to a spider

Gavin

Poverty and violence,

Pain and tear,

But why the silence

And why the fear?

Is this was your day,

What would you do?

Would you all play

Or say adieu?

Or, would you see it,

In another light?

And say 'fuck it'

And rise to fight.

Stand your ground,

For the weak and the lame!

This will astound,

and change the game.

See how it changes

When days grow short.

It quickens the pages

And moves the court.

Many souls in the past

Have watched with these eyes

And stood at their last

And claimed their prize.

So those who don't care

Or those who don't know

With their hands in the air

Will they pay what they owe?

Will you live in regret,

For not carrying your weight?

Or will you forget

And wash your slate?

Which is it my friend?

Which will suffice?

One selfish end

Or one sacrifice?
