Lilac Night

Noveyre

lilac night

you are drenched in quiet light

breathing in the creamy air

so cool and refreshing

from the sweltering day.

The clouds, like plump plums

are rolling over the horizon by

the dozens, sweetly jumping

to navy darkness. Caressing

the shadowed houses to

their beds.

Lilac night,

lavender growing in the sky

and swaying, a field of beauty.

After a day of lonely working

you are my kind relief.

Well written and I love the imagery. It's atmospheric and I can imagine those colours and the scale of the scene.

    A solid read.
