A Story Of Mental Illness

Cresposaccent

My battle is a fight that I've always tried to win,

But boxing gloves can't fend off the problems within,

As much as I have wanted to go and give up,

It took time for me to realize I'm more than enough,

Much as the change will come I just needed to wait,

This wasn't my time for me leave and vacate,

A smile won't be easy but I give it to them bright,

Even though it's a battle just trying to sleep through the night,

You reached a point where it was time that you choose,

Whether or not you will let this define you,

You may not be able to choose your fate,

But not holding on will be your biggest mistake,

Now I know it feels like you are running out of time,

Or that you cannot escape the cell in your mind,

But the shackles on your cognitives won't hold on for long,

Keep pushing through and you'll see I'm not wrong,

A cry for help may not always be seen,

But it doesn't mean that this mess won't be cleaned,

It doesn't go away but you can be in control,

Find peace within yourself then just let it roll,

We cannot control the hand we are dealt,

So never be ashamed to go and ask for help,

For love I'm telling you, your whole life really begun,

And you've been fighting the good fight since day one.
