The Unforgiving Darkness

Roselyn

darkness is a path i do not choose lightly

but a choice i did make regret-tingly so

my thoughts betray me

my emotions encompass me

to the point of no return

as if a thousand daggers thrust into me

and a thousand prayers could not save me now

they do have a habit of seeming

unanswered in any case

have i lost hope?

...

hardly

merely the hope of saving the past

a past in which is deeply unforgiving

a new hope emerges even so

a future filled with uncertainty

the only thing life truly promises

unwavering uncertainty

for better or for worse
