In The Depths Of My Haze

Roselyn

in the midst of my haze

i thought

of all the things i could be

of all the things i am not

in my dreams

i saw death

Inescapable

i prayed for another chance

just one

pleading for the strength to stay

and then i woke

my eyes slowly opening to the wall i had seen what

seemed to be light years ago

from a nightmare that felt as real as you

but even you aren't real

not really

in the midst of my haze

i saw the fragility of life

the fragility of humanity.

Such an awakening. Striking at the myths we are given to believe as children and hang onto in later years.

Is this human form a trasitory stage in our lives like the pupa anf the butterfly? ... what follows?

    • Roselyn

      Hi there!

yes in a sense it reflects the stages we go through as humans in morphing our sense of being over time. what follows in regards to this piece of work would be embracing this "fragility" of human life and moving differently in the society - in a more observant and careful demeanor to fully understand others and in doing so your inner self. a butterfly that has truly learned how to fly.
