The monster in you

A passing lyric

When I was growing up

it hid in my story book

it crept and crawled

my fear installed

yet I couldn't help but look.

Now that I am older

and through the years i've grown

it didn't take a story book

I realised on my own

that the monster that I feared

was something far more real

it's thoughts and fears

ringing through my ears

hearing words you would squeal.

when your eyes are cloudy

you are not yourself

the good, it goes

and life gets rowdy.

why can't you see

past the glass

and all the potential

this beautiful life has.

I love you

i do

but there is a monster

in you.

I think most of us have a monster in us...some more than others. We must acknowledge then embrace!

      You’re right
Maybe it’s harder to see our own monsters lurking in the shadows
