Memory Lane

MojoFreewrite

The clouds are darkening

The sun never shining

As the rays of warmth dwindle

She finds comfort in her cold world

So seemingly grey

She looks up at the stars at night

Hoping one day she’ll become one

Oh darkening clouds

Your rain tramples on her skin

Like the footsteps of her parents when she was 10

Your thunder as loud as the belt that leaves her black and blue

Oh darkening clouds

Your grey skies fill her with gloom

As she recalls being trapped in a dark room

And only the sliver of light that sneaks underneath the door kept her sane

Oh darkening clouds

Your days are oh so dark

When will your sun ever shine on her?
