For what could be the reason
When I look up at the night sky
Suddenly I’m compelled to write
For wisdom of the stars I pry
Or is it the stars
Who call upon me
With twinkling inspiration
In the starlight I see
Then on the ocean horizon
The coming of dawn’s early light
And oh, how wonderful
Tranquil and peaceful this sight
With seagulls aloft
Soaring on gentle breeze
The tide calmly advances
Soft waves to the beach they tease
And the morning hours
Fuel for more poetic words
Notions within my heart
Certainly I’ve heard
As the hours pass
Life awakens in town
Activity everywhere
Morning greetings abound
The sun’s light poetically dances
Everything it touches spawns life anew
The colors throughout the day
Smiles on happy faces too
Slowly, the sun descends
As it’s pulled down from the sky
A sunset so beautiful
Hypnotized, all I can do is sigh
Again, I’m captivated as
The stars come out
Now I see wisdom of the stars
Inspirational light no doubt

If the skies are clear, its like a magnetic attraction to look up and just gaze upon the incredible window to the universe. Thanks for the visit Neville.
Iād have to agree with you there. The night sky is one of my favorite places to be. So much inspiration to be had. This poem gave me that same tranquil vibe as I read it.
Thank you PB, then this poem hit it's mark. Glad you enjoyed it.
A certain stillness descends upon us on a starlit night I agree. And here you bring us daytimes hustle and bustle contrast too before night again unveils it's magic cloak.
How insignificant our problems of the day become when we contemplate the wonder of the starlit night.
Yes da, there is magic all hours of night and day if one chooses to look for it. And our troubles do fade away while we busy ourselves with the wonders of night and day. Thanks for reading and your comment. ; ) AP
Those stars are so wonderful to see and can inspire us all to dream and write.
"Stars are holes in Heaven's floor."

Really? And I thought the stars were the interior lights in Heaven. OK, good to know. ; ) AP
Great Write Accidental Poet. Don
I lived in Perris California when that earthquake hit, smh. I could hear 1 of my best friends a few houses down run out into the street to exclaim with surprise as it seemed to last too long, this as I rode my bed like a surf board in a wave clutching it for dear life.
Fortunately you lived to tell about it. Thanks for the read Don.
Very lovely š
You had to dig a little deeper for this one yellowrose. Hope you enjoyed it. Thank you.
