The art of wooing
the moon. Will you
actualize for me, this floating
in sky?
This obsession
will not go― ever, never.
Like the everblooming Van Gogh, haunts
me.Moon in the wheat fields?
Great, I will find
some brown sugar to make
life sweet.
A poem has the
prowess of a tiger in rage.
It takes hold of you like
a carnivore.

So many ways of responding to poetry... I will remember this one, being mauled by a raging tiger. Yes, we've all been shaken like a helpless prey by the right poem, or the art of poesy in the right hands... Countee Cullen, Yeats, Blake, Sappho, Anne Carson... and sometimes a humble community poet on MPS!
