Slow down

Dakota

Won't you slow down last time I seen you, you were in dipears and look at you your grown now.

it wasn't that long ago me and my siblings headed to day care cuddling in the van because it was winter,  icy roads we had to wait for the snow plow.

In this life I couldnt count the mistakes I made.

Life to some people just a game , I guess I never learned how to play.

By now I should be better ever day an old face is gone she wants to leave you're  just better off if you let her.

Life is a one way trip and if you look back ... just dont look back because this is it.

Think twice before you say I quit, because you didn't  make it through all that blood sweat and spit plus tears and shit for no reason.

people going to talk about you no matter what.

That's why you got to be there for you keep your head up.

before you know it you're  grown and no matter who is by you  going to be alone.

Only time can tell where we're headed.

For now get your sleep lay your little head on the pillow and your bed... dream big.

I want this world I have to take what mine leave my mark. I love my people no mater how things will end at least we had a start.

Thanks for taking a number of common pieces of advice and ideas--like keep your head up and dream big and don't look back--and putting them together smoothly, sweetly, and full of little surprises and twists. I suspect you aren't the first to say that life is a one-way trip, but you worked it in so naturally. The sincerity comes through, the good-natured mentor, summing it all up in a sort of what's-it-all-mean pep talk. And of course you failed to totally heed your own advice... in the most poignant passage you recall huddling in the van on a frosty morning. Looking back hurts, but it can be lovely.
