Night Vigil
The waxing moon
hooked the world into night
its duty done all right
And went to sleep soon
Then I take over the turn
As a waning moon’s concern
To Play the vigil for
the remaining last quarter
Watch out for the few stars
for the bamboo shadows
For the rain drops
And for the croaking of frogs
And Chirping of crickets
As Neruda said
“I like you as the sound of silence
As if I have lost myself.”
