Freedom's Portal

Kurt Philip Behm

Redefining the past

for tomorrow

Memory’s promise

—reimagined again

(Villanova Pennsylvania: July, 2020)

The True Cost

With nothing to offer

but my own confusion,

I wandered through the night

Holding you close

while letting you go,

a darker prophecy claimed the light

The end came too soon,

the beginning was dead,

all connection torn and lost

In the distance to cast

our last lot to goodbye,

redemption—the true cost
