L. B. Mek

a boxer whose groundbreaking tactic

consisted of imitating a dancing punch bag

for all, but the final round of a humid bout

uncoiling his unyielding will

to unceremoniously drop: his punched-out foe

in the most cherished spectacle of a boxing contest

can be remembered

for his wit and guile of tongue: than fist

    I'd guess Ali

BRIAN HERE ~ GEATEST OF ALL TIME - Boxingwise can only be CASSIUS CLAY aka MOHMMED ALI (1943 ~ 2016). He retired form boxing in 1981 - two years before I was born so I never saw any of his great fights televised live ! Called the Louisville (Kentucky) Lip because of his witty jibes & poems against his opponents. He could be quite philosophical too ! My fave quote is ~

Champions aren*t made in the GYM
    Champions are made from something
    they have inside of them

    Thnaks for showcasing a G.O.A.T !
    Love - Peace - Joy
    Yours BRIAN !

Sounds like Ali to me, I saw many of his fights live on TV and saw him interviewed on the TV.

You were lucky, but fortunately a lot of clips are available online so its not hard to find them
a 'larger than life' enigma, with so mush charisma and charm, outside of the ring
