Humble yourself.
Soften your heart inside.
Do not be afraid to confide.
For having pride,
will not have you satisfied.
You only listen,
to yourself.
Which keeps you from letting,
Christ be your guide.
If one only uplifts themself,
then by what will they abide?
I would be foolish to say,
"I don't need him, her, or they".
... or if I am offered help,
I turn it away.
Iron makes iron sharper,
every single day.
Give credit where credit is due.
Give credit to whom credit is owed.
Does a seed just decide,
it is going to bloom,
or does it need sunlight and water to grow?
Even Jesus left us a helper,
when it was His time to go.

- Comment from author about the poem: I think, personally, that one of the biggest problems in today's society is the fact that most people tend to think an, 'independent', person means a, 'strong', person, or a, 'self-made', person. There is no such thing as a self-made person, and even people who call themselves, 'independent', still need help. People who think that they don't need anyone, usually always ends up alone. Good write Dion. I see what sense you say this in, sort of: 'Go away, I don't need you'. I feel interdependence is better.
BRIAN & ANGELA HERE ~ Good Sunday Dion and an interesting POST. We have met some very independent people ~ Especially Angela ~ poeple who after aperations didnt want the follow-up therapy like Aquatherapy and the Theraband (Elasticband) exercises to threngthen the muscles. Her whole Job (PHYSIO) is as a PARACLETE ~ One who is called alongside to help. In the College we have students with SPECIFIC NEEDS *Downs Syndrome* etc who need special Courses and cant cope with the MAINSTREAM ! I agree with STEVE (Orchidee) we are all INTEREPENDENT ! The GOOD BOOK says GOD puts us in Human Families & Church Families ~ AMEN. Thanks for sharing. NOW you can help US ! Our FUSION on the BIBLE cant move forward untl someone adds another Poem ! You could be that one ~ AMEN ~ Please help !
